In this workshop you will explore inspiration, where and how to find it and how to express it and implement it into your work. You will discover various ways and techniques on how to decorate your ceramics. You don't need any previous experience!

KLAYIT Team will prepare ceramic surfaces for you to experiment on and to bring home.

You will be working on different types of clay surfaces; the humid, the dry and the bisque fired.  Each surface of a different texture and consistency leading to endless options and outcomes. You will learn about different materials, like oxides, underglazes and glazes and ways of using them. You will paint, scratch, rub, carve, caress, you name it! Angel will aid and guide you to express your inspiration through the material.

Ángel Peris Cuesta, Spanish visual artist, graduated in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2015 after having completed the last year of his degree at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing. Since then, he has been growing his life and professional career between China and Europe. He graduated in 2020 with a master's degree in painting from the China Academy of Art (CAA), Hangzhou, where he conducted a research on paper and other natural materials, their uses in traditional painting, and their possible adaptations to contemporary art.
His artistic practice is pushed forward as a process of understanding the contemporary reality through the rediscovery of natural materials and the production of graphic work created from a personal interpretation of these.

During the pandemic he started exploring the world of clay and ceramics. His ceramic works are currently exhibited at NO BORDER, Tangier and in Manoir de Cologny, Geneva as of September 14th, the latest is a collaboration with KLAYIT studio.
